The biggest pushback this week came in the form of grassroots support for Zohran Mamdani by Democratic voters in New York City. Voters sent a clear message that the status quo establishment Dems need to get a new platform that addresses the actual issues that affect voters. The Old Guard rallied around a sex pest instead of one of the several other excellent candidates. I personally like Mamdani, but Brad Lander and Adrienne Adams were also excellent candidates that deserved the support of their party.
The cool think about Mamdani is that he is also the "rebuild" candidate, strongly favoring housing, public transit, and affordability, which are three critical areas that the Democrats have failed to champion. We can have nice things!

"Democrats" are elected officials, government agencies, unions, and non-profits. "Grassroots" are individuals, political organizing groups, and informal groups. "Disloyal Opposition" are Republicans, conservatives, business interests, and other interests more typically aligned with the GOP agenda.
