Pushback 23

Last year, very strong winds knocked our neighbor's deadish, shallow-rooted tree into our yard, killing our olive tree, a laurel tree, and a good chunk of our gutter. He didn't apologize. He didn't even call to tell us it had happened; another neighbor did. I could go on but I am reclaiming my time from that man. One lesson from this situation was that good neighbors make all the difference. Be a good neighbor. The other lesson is that in a year, things look very different. I now have three big planter boxes full of flowers and veggies in the yard. The yard feels warmer, bigger, and better used now. In a year, things will look very different, and it all depends on what we plant right now.
