Hey folks, I hope everyone is hanging in there. I want to highlight a story that doesn't really fit into any category: MacArthur Foundation to increase giving for two years in response to 'crisis'. This is good news in the sense that it conveys that the MacArthur Foundation understands the critical moment we are facing. This is bad news in the sense that foundations should not be able to horde wealth to disperse at their leisure based on when they believe a situation warrants intervention. For example, Elon Musk used a $7 billion stock donation to save himself $2 billion in taxes and for the past three years has failed to disperse money at the level required by law.

Repeat after me: There should not be billionaires. They should be taxed out of existence.

I don't really care how much Mackenzie Scott has given away. No billionaires!
